006-Craige ThompsonIn this episode of the Law Business Podcast, Craige Thompson continues to share with us the things that set him apart from his competition. Part of his success comes from his unique way of approaching potential clients. Going into sales calls with a giving and helping mindset allows him to connect on a personal level, and this often positively surprises people.

Craige’s tip is to be willing to face the fears of running the business side of a law firm, and to seek out personal and professional growth from different sources. He’s convinced that being open to mindset shifts is an integral part of one’s overall growth. His first memorable mindset-shift happened when reading the book E-Myth – by Michael E. Gerber. We talk in detail about how this revelation changed the way Craige views his own role in the business as an entrepreneur.

Just like everything in real life, growing a business is mostly not a straight road. Craige shares the challenges he faces and the lessons he’s learned. He emphasizes that goal setting and looking at key financial metrics can be unpleasant, but the more prepared you are the less likely it is that you will make mistakes with a lasting effect.

Craige also shares with us all the marketing projects he’s involved in currently to get out his message: writing two books, giving speeches, publishing a newsletter and a podcast.

Book recommendation: E-Myth by Michael E. Gerber
